From Saint-Quentin to Mont-Royal Avenue

A family story

Born from a shared love of high-quality products, Gilbert and Raymonde Legrand, originally from Saint-Quentin in northern France, founded La Maison du Rôti in 1969 on Mont-Royal Avenue in Montreal. Initially dedicated to pork sales, the artisanal butcher shop quickly became the heart of the Plateau neighborhood. La Maison du Rôti has now been a part of the Montreal community for over 55 years.

From French expertise to local products

Three Generations of Excellence

In 1980, Michel and Philippe, sons of the founders, took the reins and transformed the butcher shop into a true institution of fine cuisine. The product range expanded to include: prime meats, artisanal French-style charcuterie, prepared meals, fine cheeses, fair trade coffees, and Quebec gourmet grocery products. Today, Dominic, Michel's son and third generation, continues this family tradition with the same passion and attention to detail.
